The Forbidden Quest: The Search for the Nine Crystals

In a universe unknown to most, hidden between time and space, the planet Eron pulses with diverse life and unfathomable magic. Skies of shifting hue unfurl above towering forests, and rivers of silver thread through ancient mountains whose peaks kiss the stars. It is a realm where humans, creatures, and sorcerers dwell in delicate accord.

At the heart of the universe’s fragile equilibrium lie nine crystals — relics of primordial creation, each embodying a dominion of power that governs balance across nature, energy, life, might, magic, emotion, time, and all other forces seen and veiled. Under the measured control and protection of the Supreme Sorcerers of Eron, the nine crystals have held the fabric of existence intact.  Seasons have turned, tides ebbed and flowed, life flourished, and peace — however fleeting — endured across the lands.

But peace and balance are ever fragile things.

Not long ago, a great schism rent the ranks of the Supreme Sorcerers. Some among them hungered to wield the crystals and shape a new world — one ruled by their own hand, where mortal creatures bowed to arcane dominion. Others stood resolute, seeking to preserve the sacred balance between sorcerers and all other life. But ambition, fear, and the lust for power seeped like venom into the hearts of many. Sorcerers turned on each other.  Now, the fate of Eron — and the cosmos beyond — teeters on the brink of ruin.

Amidst the encroaching chaos, a wise and fearless Supreme Sorcerer named Xabian, foreseeing the crystals’ misuse, seized them from the ancient vaults where they had been guarded for millennia — forbidden to the hands and eyes of all mortal creatures — and hid them far from the nefarious sorcerers, thus diminishing their combined might. But his act of defiance was short-lived. Corrupt brethren within the Supreme Sorcery, led by the ruthless Supreme Sorcerer Drakion, swiftly apprehended him. They unleashed their waning magics in a desperate attempt to wrest from him the location of the crystals. Yet it was to no avail. With the crystals far away, the once-boundless powers of the Supreme Sorcerers waned. Enraged by failure and determined to make an example of him, Drakion ordered Xabian’s execution before others could come to his aid.

News of this betrayal rippled across the land. Those who still held fast to the old ways vanished into exile, their hearts burdened with sorrow, their hopes flickering like fading starlight.

Now, Drakion’s loyalists — a host of misguided warriors, apprentice sorcerers, and creatures of every kind — scour the land in search of the crystals, eager to return them to their master in exchange for power, favor, or coin.

In opposition, Xabian sympathizers, also composed of warriors, sorcerers, and creatures, big and small, undertake secretive, forbidden quests of their own, seeking to sabotage these efforts and secure the crystals before they fall into corrupted hands. And in the shadows between allegiance and rebellion, other souls, both noble and nefarious, embark on their own quests — their true intentions shrouded in secrecy.

Thus, the Forbidden Quest has begun.
